I Never Forget a…

Ready to tumble down a rabbit hole?

Watching the human face form in utero leads one’s imagination on a fantastical journey.

What I suggest is that you view the video once with the sound turned on, then several more times with the sound turned off.

I suggest this approach because I find I don’t observe as well, or think as deeply, when someone’s talking. Especially if they’re offering “explanations.”

When I observed the video without sound, I came to realize that what the announcer’s broad brushstroke explanation fails to point out is that we’re not just watching the assemblage of giant puzzle pieces but the coordination of millions of individual cells around a common pursuit.

The distinction is a critical one that I’ll come back to in a later post.

Watch. Turn the screen upside down and watch again. And let your mind wander.
